On Friday the 6th of November 2015 the haart v Felicity J Lord Dodgeball Tournament took place raising over £1,235 for Magic Moments Children’s Charity.
After taking a one year break, time has come for haart and Felicity J Lord to battle it out for the trophy once again!
People love the chance to play dodgeball whilst raising money for a good cause and as an added twist the competitors came in fancy dress, with players dressed up as everything from cave men, tigers to bananas, and even a beer bottle made it. With the biggest (or should our say smallest)fan – Leia aged two dressed as a little angel.
Dodgeball is a team sport where opposing sides chuck balls at each other- if you get hit then you’re out, if you dodge it or catch the ball you stay in.
With team names as Haart Attack, Haart Break, FJL Gives you Wings
And Can’t Dodge This who won best fancy dress) the teams were certainly taking the fancy dress theme seriously. Two teams out of ten dodged, ducked, dipped, dived and dodged their way to glory, or in most cases appalling defeat. Ten teams did enter; only one emerged victorious.
The grand final was between Achy Breaky Haart and Felicity J Lord’s Can’t Dodge This and after a very exciting final the 2015 trophy was handed over to Achy Breaky Haart with the whole team dressed up as the 118 characters.
Our dodgeball event seems to get more popular every time and I was blown away by the enthusiasm that the teams put in, both in the tournament itself, the fund raising and the fancy dress.
